The mission of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County is to foster an appreciation for music by presenting national and international performances of the highest quality while also providing dynamic and innovative music education programs for individuals of all ages.
The Philharmonic Society's nationally recognized Youth Music Education Programs offer a wide variety of age-appropriate musical experiences that supplement and enhance public and private school curriculum. These programs meet the California Arts Standards for Public Schools, as well as Common Core college and career readiness skills. We are particularly proud of the fact that over six million children, from kindergarten through high school, have participated in our programs in the past 60 years, thanks to the generosity of our volunteers and contributors. And we are continuing to refine and expand what we offer.
The funds raised from the Cruise of Lights®, brought to you by the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee, support these Youth Music Education Programs. Additionally, the Huntington Harbour Committee gives a portion of all our fundraising proceeds (Holiday Boutique, Cruise of Lights®, Junior's Fashion Show) directly back to the schools in our immediate community. These funds are granted based on the needs of the individual music programs.
